Mandela 67 Minutes

Well, I wonder if it's just us stupid Law abiding citizens that do these charitable outings. Today I decided that for Mandela day, I would spend my morning picking up rubbish in the Carel Venter Park (of which there is a hell of a lot to pick up). I spent over an hour doing this while several hobos and park strollers dotted past, not once offering any help (great Community we live in) At least on Guy who was eating his food right next to a huge pile of rubbish felt at home, he left his rubbish on the floor even after being asked to start using the bins.

I counted 20 Condom rappers that I picked up, some would say at least they are using condoms, I say get a room and some moral’s you sick people. I wonder how many woman where actually consenting to have sex under those romantic circumstances or how many where rape victims in our dark parks. Hello Police something to look into, yes that’s right we have vagrants in our parks after dark posing a major security and safety hazard. Plleeaaase start patrolling the green belt I have a map for you if you need it.

On a lighter Note, I got back from collecting the rubbish only to get my sister laws words that’s not your Job!

Imagine if we all thought like that, so go on do something for Mandela day even if it’s not for him, do it for your Community.

Oh yes Pick it up refused to take my Bags of Rubbish because they didn’t fit in my black bin.
Go figure!

Litter, litter, litter

Our parks look so beautiful but are consistently under threat from people that don’t have any morels and consider the parks a dumping ground. This will only stop when the community start using the parks and confront the situation, I encourage people to get out there Houses and start education other people especially children on picking up litter.

PLEASE TAKE RESPONSILITY FOR YOUR PAVEMENT AND PARKS.

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to live in a dump, if someone can’t do the basic civic duty of picking up litter or actually not littering, please point it out to them. If they can’t even do this basic function how can they possibly do anything constructive in life.

I watched a guy walk with two bags of rubbish, walk all the way down to the spruit and toss it in, I just don’t understand it! Today the rubbish gets picked up by pick it up… so just put it in one of the 1000 dustbins out today I’m sure the residents won’t mind.

A shout out to the teen age (skateboarders) that confronted this man about littering I hope he got the message, but some people are so thick I’m sure he didn’t.

It’s like a nail you keep hammering it in eventually the nail goes all the way…..

DO NOT LITTER AND HELP EXPOSE LITTER BUGS THESE PEOPLE WILL BECOME HARDER CRIMINALS IF THEY CAN”T FOLLOW THE BASIC RULES.

ATTEMPTED CAR THEFT

This happens in every area in JHB, my fathers car was stolen earlier this year in Weltevreden Park so the story below is not a Greymont horror story but rather a success,
Well this morning was an exciting one, I heard a bit of noise outside and took a peek, and there was an army of Greymont patrol cars. They had managed to foil a Car theft from outside the vet, the thieves managed to get away though, in an off white VW fox so keep an eye out.
Roland head of the local community security support and his team did a fantastic job in reacting and want to thank them for that, on the owner’s behalf.
If you have a Hi Risk car, can I make a suggestion that you don’t park in the street because there has been a few attempts in this area. It only take a  minute to steal your car.
Hi risk cars are – Most VW golf’s, Mazda midges, polo’s, BMW 3 series, Toyota conquest, Tazz, and corrolla’s. I'm sure there are many more but they are mainly after spares that’s why they go for these cars.
PLEASE SUPPORT ROLAND’S SECURITY COMPANY (suburban crime prevention); HE IS BASED IN GREYMONT AND HIS TEAM REACTS SUPER FAST…. AND THEY SEEM TO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THE COMMUNITY.
Oh yes that car that floats past your house in the early hours of the morning is the greymont patrol car, so spare a thought for them in this cold weather.
Anyway Keep safe and get to know your neighbour’s, they could be the first to help you when you are in need.

WELCOME GREYMONT RESIDENTS

Hi Greymonters

I have started this blog for the people of Greymont, the whole purpose is to give a voice to the residents and people who care about the area they live in. I want the community to interact with each other through the blog and create a transparent community that embraces the future of this suburb.

I would like all in the Greymont area to become followers of the blog and report incidents, City Park issues, Friends of Alberts farm Functions, Issues in the area in terms of malfunctioning lights, exposed wires, Crime or even missing drain covers. Anything that will be constructive in improves our area.

I also would like fun issues raised such as church functions, walks, bike rides, car pools anything that will helps the area and hopefully create a greener world for our children.

The main aim is to encourage residents to be proud of the area and hopefully reinvest in their houses and environment as this is the biggest investment one could have.

One of the greatest achievements this Blog could have is to help our Ward Public Servent Steve Kotze in getting our area to its best potential.

We all live on such a beautiful green belt it would be a crime not to take part.

Please send me your views on the idea and let’s start building this community!

I Love Greymont Team

P.S.  Please pick up litter in the streets and park, if someone sees you doing it the will start doing the same.
